One of Tevye's youngest daughters, who love to have fun.

Is the scholarly daughter who would rather have her head in a book than do chores. She challenges tradition in a very drastic way - drawing a rift in the family that may not be reparable.

The backbone of the family. She is rather gruff, but in her heart is sheer dedication to her family. She must manage Tevye, as well as her five headstrong daughters. She runs the household and must be able to keep everyone's emotions in check, while also having a soft side.

The heart and conscience of Fiddler on the Roof Jr. Tevye was blessed with five daughters, and often just would like to cut a break. He has a zest for life, and incredible integrity, but there are times when he would just rather tradition keep his family together. His strong commitment to his faith and to tradition is challenged more and more through each of his daughters, but in the end he learns that sometimes traditions change.

Is a strong, young Russian soldier who pushes the norm, and ends up falling in love.

Is the strong, independent, fun loving second sister. She is respectful, but very outspoken, and at the beginning has her eye on the Rabbi's son. She, like her sister, challenges tradition - and won't take no for an answer.

Is the oldest daughter, who is the first to challenge Tradition. She is in love with Motel the tailor, who has been her friend since childhood. Tzeitel is strong and determined, while also having a fun side when she gets with her sisters.

Is a young student who brings with him radical new ideas that challenge the traditions of the community. He is strong, likable, charming, and ultimately is a loyal family man.

Is a poor, young tailor who has been friends with Tzeitel since childhood. He is endearing, sensitive, and nervous but oh-so love-able.
